New Year, Same Skin Confident Routine
Here’s the thing: you don’t actually need a whole new routine to start the year off right.
If your skin has been loving the products you’re already using, don’t feel pressured to switch everything up just because it’s the new year. Real skin results don’t come from chasing the newest launch or trend, they come from consistency.
Why sticking to what works is better
Consistency delivers results.
Your skin responds to what you do every day, not what you do once in a while. Jumping from product to product rarely gives your skin the chance to actually improve.
You already know what works for you.
If Day Drin-C or Day Hydrate has been giving you that glow, trust it. Finding products that genuinely work for your skin is the hard part, so once you’ve got them, stick with them.
It’s sustainable.
A routine you can maintain year-round will always outperform an overly complicated one that feels like too much after a few weeks.
Don’t be fooled by New Year marketing
January is peak reinvention season. New packaging, new “must-tries.” But no product is a magic reset.
At ed&i, we’re not about trends, because trends break consistency. And consistency is what gives your skin the time it needs to actually change. Most products need weeks (not days) to show results, so switching constantly only sets you back.
A note on summer skin
Summer doesn’t mean a new routine, just small adjustments. You might find your skin needs:
-
Lighter layers
-
Extra hydration
-
More SPF support
If anything, the only addition you may want to consider is adjusting based on how your skin feels. For example, adding extra hydration if you’re spending more time in the sun, salt water, or air conditioning. Otherwise, keep it simple.
Haven’t found your routine yet?
If you feel like you haven’t landed on a routine that works, resist the urge to do everything at once. Start small. Keep it simple.
Take inspiration from Ed’s approach to skincare: a few well-chosen products, used consistently, morning and night. When you give your skin time and repetition, it tells you what it needs.
So this year, try this mindset: New Year, Same You.
